Syracuse, N.Y. – A fired Onondaga DA's office investigator accused of being behind the wheel in a Hit-and-Run Crash that killed a teen in the Northside is due in court Friday.
Peter Rauch was arrested in March for allegedly hitting and killing 18-year-old Seth Collier in Syracuse then driving away.
Rauch is due in court today for a grand jury waiver, which means he's giving up his right to have his case presented to a grand jury. This may indicate that a plea deal is in the works.
Rauch is charged with a felony count of leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident which has no jail time required under law. The maximum sentence would be 2 and a third to 7 years in prison.
