Syracuse Father Pleads Not Guilty In Gun Death

A court appearance today for the father of an eight year old Syracuse boy who was shot in his own home and later died.

44 year old Jermaine Moore stood before a judge and pleaded not guilty on a charge of Criminal Possession of a weapon. He's now being held on $10,000 bail.

Moore's eight year old son Shaleek Carrears was shot in his Hartson Street home last month by his ten year brother who thought a gun he had found in the home was fake. Syracuse Police say the gun was stolen. City police say the gun was stolen from former Syracuse firefighter Ted Ackerman.
