Young Girl Rushed To The Hospital After Being A Hit By Car

Salina, N.Y. – A six-year-old is recovering at the hospital after she was hit by a car earlier in the afternoon in the Town of Salina.

Onondaga County Sheriff's Deputies say that Timothy Barlow was driving on Teall Ave, near Short Street, when he noticed a group of children lingering on the shoulder of the road. That's when the six-year-old darted in front of his car as she tried to cross the street.  Barlow slammed on the brakes, but did end up hitting the girl.

Deputies say they don't suspect speed, alcohol, or cell phone use are factors in the crash. It was the first of two crashes where a child was hit by a car. The second, happening in Syracuse, ending tragically.
