Cicero, N.Y. – Swimming is banned at Oneida Shores Beach due to blue green algae blooms.
The Onondaga County Health Department said yesterday that swimming won't be allowed until further notice.
The algae blooms can release toxins that can irritate skin, eyes or GI tract.
People and animals are urged to stay out of the water, but the sand portion of the beach is still open for sunbathing.
