State Police have arrested a Tompkins County man who was driving drunk and then drove into a swamp.
Troopers were called out to Peruville Road in Dryden overnight where they found that 27 year old Rick Newton had driven about 20 feet off the road and into a swamp.Newton was found unconscious in the drivers seat with the keys in the ignition.
Newton was taken to Cayuga Medical Center and consented to a blood test to determine his blood alcohol content. He's been charged with DWI and other traffic violations.
