Syracuse Police Investigating Homicide


On Tuesday July 4th, 2017 at approximately 11:41 PM, Syracuse Police Officers responded to Upstate University Hospital in regards to a shooting.  Upon arrival, Officers met with a 23 year old male who was suffering from a gunshot wound to his back.  The victim was transported to the hospital in a private vehicle for treatment.  His injuries do not appear to be appear to be life threatening.  The victim stated that the incident occurred on S. State Street near E. Colvin Street.  At this time, there is no suspect information available.

On Wednesday July 5th, 2017 at approximately 12:06 AM, Syracuse Police Officers responded to the 2100 block of E. Fayette Street in regards to a shooting.  Upon arrival, Officers located two victims at the scene.  A male in his 30’s was suffering from a gunshot wound, and transported to Upstate University Hospital AMR Ambulance, where he died from his injuries a short time later.  The 2nd victim was a 32 year old male, who was suffering from gunshot wounds to his back.  He was also transported to Upstate University by AMR Ambulance Hospital for treatment.  His injuries do not appear to be life threatening.

Detectives are currently investigating these incidents, and additional information will be released when available.
