A two to six year prison sentence today for Brandon Hinman in Cayuga County Court.
Hinman is the father of twin girls who's birth made national headline three years ago after their mother contracted a rare form of pregnancy-related cancer and died shortly after giving birth. Hinman was accused of stealing 45 thousand dollars from a fund set up for his twin girls and he was sentenced today for repeatedly violating his probation and turned to drugs again.
Prosecutors say Hinman was using opiates and cocaine again and never showed up for six probation meetings over a three month period. His twin girls turned three in March and the District Attorney says since their birth, Hinman has only seen his daughter for a total of 88 hours.
