Syracuse, N.Y. - A New York firefighters union is censuring the Syracuse fire chief.
Yesterday the New York State Professional Fire Fighters Association voted to censure Chief Paul Linnertz for conduct detrimental to the department and public safety. He reportedly maintained an aggressive tone toward department members and stymied contractual benefits.
The union said they hope to work with Linnertz, but they want to negotiate with the city, not him.
