RV Slams into Parkway Bridge; Continues for Three Miles

Liverpool, N.Y. - A Florida man was ticketed after he drove is RV Camper into the low railroad bridge over the Onondaga Lake Parkway and just kept driving for more than three miles.

73-year-old Gerald Williams was heading north on the parkway when he slammed his RV into the railroad bridge just before 1:00 p.m.

Deputies say they eventually caught up with Williams in the parking lot of a business on Lumber Way. The force of the impact sheared the RV’s air condition units, awnings, antennas and horns that were mounted on the roof.

No one was injured and Deputies say that only one other vehicle traveling behind the RV sustained a flat tire after driving through the debris.

The bridge sustained minor damage.
