The Attorney Generals Office says they've arrested two more Central New Yorkers who tried to steal chickens just rescued from a large cock fighting ring.
41 year old Juan Jose Vega and 42 year old Wanda Santos of Utica are accused of breaking into a barn in Herkimer County to steal 50 chicken that had just been rescued as part of Operation Bloodsport. The five month investigation resulted in 41 arrests this week where police seized hundreds of chickens, heroin, guns and cash.
Attorney General Eric Schneiderman quipped that poultry pilferers who try to fly the coop with our evidence will be brought justice. The AG says the two new suspects are accused of breaking the padlocks on the barn doors.
