State Police say a Rome woman has drowned after swimming in Delta Lake.State Police responded to a reported drowning at Delta Lake in the Town of Western.
The victim is identified as 55 year old Maryellen Hall. She was swimming with family members last night when she became distressed in the water.
Family members attempted to help her back into their boat but were unsuccessful. Another boater was able to get Hall back into the boat and began CPR but she was pronounced dead at Rome Memorial Hospital.
