Syracuse, N.Y. – Leaders from across Onondaga County met yesterday to get the ball rolling on an outline due to the Governor Aug. 1st about what services can be shared between towns and villages to save county taxpayers money.
The County Executive set a timeline that will have leaders submit their ideas to her by July 21st. The public will see the proposal for the first time on Aug. 3rd. There will also be a meeting with school districts and BOCES on June 19th.
A few weeks ago Town and Village Leaders had raised concerns that the ambitions timeline set by Governor Cuomo does not give them enough time to brainstorm ideas as well as navigate some of the legal red tape.
