Several local Chipotle Restaurants are among those across the country that have been the victim of a large data breach.
Chipotle officials are now asking customers to keep a close eye on their bank accounts for transactions made between March 24th and April 18th. The chain says malware was discovered in their payment system.
Here in Central New York, four locations have been affected. In Syracuse, the restaurants on Erie Boulevard and Marshall Street were hit and so were Chipotle locations in Liverpool and New Hartford.
The chain is now urging customers to sign up for fraud alerts and even freeze their accounts if any suspicious activity appears.
