A Syracuse teacher has been stabbed at Corcoran High School after he tried to break up a fight between two female students.
The school was placed on lockdown this morning as the teacher was rushed to the hospital with stab wounds to his chest and shoulder. The school's resource officer called for an ambulance.The suspect is identified as 17 year old Zhuantina Hayes. She's been charged with Assault and Criminal Possession of a Weapon.
The teacher is listed in stable condition at Upstate Hospital. School district officials could not explain how Hayes got thru the school's metal detectors with a knife.
