Geddes, N.Y. – The State Fair may have a Director soon for the first time in years.
Rumors have been swirling for weeks that Central New York real estate developer Dan Queri has been offered the job to take the helm of the State Fair. But it appears now Queri has accepted the job and will be announced as the new director in the coming weeks. He was involved in the early stages of building Destiny USA in the early 2000s.
The position has technically been open for four years now after former director Tom Ryan quit after just a few months on the job. Acting Director Troy has been running the day-to-day Fair Operations since 2013. He is reportedly expected to remain with the Fair. In his time as Acting Director Wafner has overseen the recent renovations at the fairgrounds, as well as the most attended Fair ever last year.
State Officials have not commented on the rumors.
