Controversy Brewing Over Possible Selection Of New State Fair Director

State Senator John DeFancisco is hopping mad over reports that a new State Fair Director may have been chosen behind closed doors. The Senator says he wants interim director Troy Waffner to get the job, which he's had for the last four years, and the senator says decisions like this are done behind closed doors and remain secret.

The senator says Waffner has done a spectacular job running the state fair and oversaw the recent renovations at the fairgrounds. Reports have surfaced that local developer Dan Queri has been tapped for the state fair job. DeFrancisco says he wouldn't be surprised if County Executive Joanie Mahoney and her administration had a hand in in his selection. The County Executive has been unavailable for comment.
