Microburst, not Tornado, downed 100+ Trees in Chenango County

Norwich, N.Y. - The National Weather Service says that a Microburst, not a Tornado, caused 100 mile per hour winds that uprooted and snapped 100 healthy trees Monday night in the Chenango County city of Norwich.

It was part of the same system of severe thunderstorms that rolled through our region that caused sporadic damage and left around 10 thousand homes in Central New York without power at the height of the outage.
