A North Country union rep has been charged with Grand Larceny after police say he stole thousands of dollars from his own union. State Police say 33 year old Ronald Watson stole more than 30 thousand dollars from the Firefighters Union on Fort Drum while he worked there. Union officials found discrepancies in their book and alerted the Feds and the District Attorneys office.
Police say Watson and his family had moved to California and law enforcement there was able to track him down and put him in cuffs. Along with a Grand Larceny charge, Watson has also been charged with nine counts of Forgery.
