The County Comptroller is lobbing another grenade at the County Executive today and accused her of running a monarchy. Bob Antonacci is accusing Joanie Mahoney is negotiating naming right at the Lakeview Amphitheater behind closed doors and under the cover of darkness. Antonnaci claims the naming rights should be put out to bid and involve the county legislature.
Antonacci says recent public statements by Deputy County Executive Bill Fisher that no bidding process is necessary is absolutely false. The comptroller says this is all part of a pattern by the Mahoney administration to conduct public business in secret and behind closed doors.
Antonacci also accused Joanie Mahoney of running a monarchy in Onondaga County. Legislature Chairman Ryan McMahon has said publicly that naming rights to the theater could bring in six figures each year. The County Executive has been unavailable for comment.
