In a statement from Onondaga County Executive Joanie Mahoney, she says, “We are very excited the investments Governor Cuomo announced for the New York State Fair, including the new gondola, were included in the state budget extender. We don't mind the negative feedback; we have grown accustomed to it from the few people in the community who chose to speak even before they have heard any of the details. We use it as inspiration to successfully deliver big projects like the Lakeview Amphitheater on time and under budget. We expect the same will be true when people experience the new round of investments in the Fair."
Mahnoney says, "Planning is underway for the new projects at the Fair, including the gondola, and we encourage the community to be involved as this multi-year process unfolds. When all of the projects are complete, a world class destination center will exist that will benefit our community for generations to come.”
