A registered sex offender in Syracuse is behind bars again after police say he repeatedly raped a child.51 year old John Gainey of Richmond Avenue is accused of the sexual assaults that occurred that occurred between May of last year and February of this year.
Investigators say he was preying on a victim under the age of 17 who was too young to consent.He's facing four counts of rape and five counts of a criminal sex act and he's being held without bail. Gainey was arrested back in 1995 after investigators say he abused an eight year old girl but only received probation then.
