Onondaga Deputy Rescues Two Dogs Who Fell Through The Ice

An Onondaga County Sheriffs Deputy was rushed to the hospital after he tried to rescue two dogs who fell through the ice on a Town of Clay pond.

Deputy Tim Hahn was called out to the scene one Caughdenoy Road to a report that two Golden Retrievers had fallen through the ice in a pond behind a residence. Deputy Hahn noticed the dogs struggling to stay above water when he grabbed a ladder nearby to help to rescue the dogs.

While he was getting the dogs out of the water, Deputy Hahn fell into the water himself, but was able to crawl out and was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
