Onondaga County DA Investigator Charged In Hit And Run

The District Attorney's office in Onondaga County says one of it's investigators has been arrested after a hit and run accident this morning.

In a statement, DA Bill Fitzpatrick says investigator Pete Rauch was involved in a hit and run accident just before two this morning, and Syracuse Police were called to the scene on North Salina Street.  The DA says Rauch hit a 17 year old pedestrian who was rushed to Upstate Hospital where he is being treated for serious injuries.

Rauch then fled the scene. He was taken into custody by Syracuse Police and a special prosecutor will now handle the case. Rauch has now been fired as an investigator at the DA's office and Fitzpatrick says his thoughts and prayers go out to the young man's family.
