Rome Man Arrested after returning Stolen Items

Rome, N.Y. - A Rome man who was robbed earlier this month got quite a surprise over the weekend when he got a knock on his door. It was the man who broke into his apartment who then apologized for breaking into his home and wanted to return the stolen items.

Rome Police Captain Tim Bates says the suspect stole jewelry and cash from the victim on March 3rd. The homeowner then picked up the phone and called police and 34-year-old Joshua Grant was arrested. Police say he's a suspect in other burglaries around town.

Cops say he may have been breaking into homes to feed his drug habit. Grant has now been charged with Second Degree Burglary and he's now behind bars.
