Syracuse Ranks Dead Last In Economic Growth

More bad economic news for the Syracuse area. A new stody out today says Syracuse is deadl last in economic growth among the nation's top 100 cities. The Brookings Institute says the Syracuse metro ranked 100th, dead last, in economic growth. Syracuse also ranked 80th in prosperity. 

The report says Syracuse job growth was dismal over the last five years and the unemployment rate here is sky high. The institute says industrial downsizing is one factor in Syracuse's horrible numbers. The top-rated cities in the country were in the south and the west coast.
