Elderly Oneida Woman Killed After Being Struck By Car

Oneida City Police are investigating a deadly accident that claimed the life of an elderly woman.

Oneida Police say the victim was walking across Lenox Avenue overnight when she was hit by a car. 81 year old Joyce Eberlein was seriously injured and she later died in the Oneida Healthcare emergency room. 

People passing by after she was hit performed CPR on the victim in the street, but couldn't revive her. The car that hit Eberlein was being driven by 68 year old Richard Leahy of Oneida and city police say charges are pending against him.
