Two teenagers have now been charged with Attempted Murder and Criminal Possession of a Weapon after police say they fired a barrage of bullets Monday at a Sheriffs Department Detective in DeWitt. The detective was involved in undercover drug surveillance at the Springfield Garden Apartments.
16 year old Isaiah Outley and a 15 year old juvenile have been charged in the case and both were already on probation.The undercover detective wasn't seriously hurt but the windows on his car were shattered. The sheriff thinks the motive in this case may have been robbery and that the suspects had no idea they were shooting at a police officer.
