SUNY ESF Says One Of Their Students Died In Monday Fire

Syracuse, N.Y. - SUNY ESF officials say that one of their students was killed in a fire Monday in Syracuse.

Beth Ann Newkirk died early Tuesday morning. She was rushed to the hospital after she and someone else were rescued from a fire on Buckingham Avenue in Syracuse Monday morning. Firefighters found them both unresponsive. There is no word on the other victim.

The cause of the fire is continuing to be investigated.
