Sodus Farm Murderer Facing New Federal Charges

Rochester, N.Y. - A man charged in connection with the deaths of a mother and her little boy is due in a Federal courtroom Thursday afternoon. 

Alberto Reyes will be arraigned on new federal fraud and immigration charges. He is accused of misusing a permanent alien card, a Social Security card, and unlawfully re-entering the country after being deported. 

Man Charged With Murder of Mother And Her Son In Sodus

The man who has been in jail since soon after the death of a young mother on a Sodus farm, in May, is now charged with killing her and her little boy. A Wayne County grand jury has charged Alberto Reyes on two counts of second-degree murder in the deaths of Selena Hidalgo-Calderon and her son, Owen.

Prosecutors in Wayne County say Reyes killed Selena Hidalgo-Calderon and her 14-month-old son Owen last year.  

Their bodies were found on a farm in Sodus.
