Search Begins Today For Schneiderman Replacement

Albany, N.Y. - A bi-partisan state legislative committee begins the search today for someone to serve as state Attorney General until the upcoming election.

Lawmakers are looking to replace Eric Schneiderman, who resigned last week. Thirteen people are seeking the job. Among them is the current acting Attorney General, state Solicitor Barbara Underwood. Public interviews start Tuesday afternoon and will continue Wednesday.

Schneiderman Quickly Replaced After Resigning In Disgrace

Former Attorney General Eric Schneiderman has already been replaced. Schneiderman stepped down yesterday in disgrace after a bombshell "New Yorker" article detailed allegations by several women of repeated abuse.

Candidates will have the opportunity to make an opening statement and will field questions from members of the committee. Governor Cuomo says he plans to meet with some of the candidates and may make an endorsement.
