Former President Joe Biden is set to visit Syracuse University’s College of Law on Tuesday (April 14) for a special event. The university will unveil an oil portrait of Biden, an alumnus, in Dineen Hall during a private ceremony. The portrait, painted by renowned artist Michael Shane Neal, will be permanently displayed in the Law Library Reading Room.

Biden, who graduated with a law degree from Syracuse in 1968, will deliver remarks alongside university leadership and the artist. According to Syracuse University, Biden has maintained a close connection with the institution, having delivered commencement addresses on multiple occasions and received several honors, including the University’s Chancellor’s Medal and the George Arents Pioneer Medal.

The event will begin at 2 p.m. in Dineen Hall, and the public can view the portrait during normal library hours following the ceremony. LocalSYR.com will stream the event live for those unable to attend in person.
