The Liverpool Central School District Board of Education has appointed Brian Nolan as the interim superintendent. Nolan will serve in this role until the end of June, succeeding Doug Lawrence, who stepped in after the departure of former superintendent Daniel Henner. Nolan will earn $1,100 per day during his tenure.
Nolan brings extensive experience to the position, having retired in 2016 after a 31-year career with the Syracuse City School District. He held various roles, including executive director of high schools. After retiring, he served as principal of Bishop Grimes Junior/Senior High School and later as acting superintendent in the Utica School District.
Doug Lawrence, who has been the interim superintendent since September, will return to his previous role as the district’s deputy superintendent. The district is currently conducting a search for a permanent superintendent. According to Syracuse.com, the board had an agreement with Lawrence that he would step down once the search for a new superintendent began.
