State AG Takes Action Against "Ghost Guns"

Albany, N.Y. - The State Attorney General sending a cease-and-desist order two more than a dozen websites that sell the so-called "ghost guns."

Attorney General Letitia James says the 16 companies targeted in the order sell firearms or components that go against the state’s assault weapons ban.

It is technically not illegal to purchase a partially-assembled gun, and finish it yourself. Websites, outside of the state, can sell the unfinished firearms to people in the state.

However, people that possess a firearm banned by the Safe Act, can still be punished. Lawmakers say they will try and pass a bill making their sale illegal.
