Drunk Driver Causes Power Outage

Town of Clay - A power outage in the Clairmont area this morning was caused by a drunk driver.

Around 2am on Glencrest Avenue, Onondaga Sheriffs found a pickup truck slammed into a utilty pole. The driver had fled the scene. Police soon tracked down and arrested 20 year old Zachary Guhin.

He's charged :

  • Driving while intoxicated, operating a motor vehicle with a BAC of .08% or higher.
  • Leaving the scene of a property damage accident.
  • Operating a motor vehicle after consuming alcohol under the age of 21.
  • Moving from lane unsafely and speed not reasonable and prudent.

National Grid has since replaced the utility pole and power is back on in the area.
