Four Charged With Robbery And Unlawful Imprisonment

Syracuse, NY.  On Saturday, July 14, 2018, at approximately 10:05pm, Syracuse Police Officers responded to the 100 block of Lafayette Road regarding a robbery investigation.   The victim reported he had been sitting in his vehicle with his girlfriend and a friend, when four males approached the car.  The four suspects began banging on the car windows and yelling at the victim to get out of the vehicle.  The victim attempted to drive away, but the suspects opened the driver’s door and pulled him out of the car. The suspects then assaulted the victim and stole his cell phone.  It was further reported that the suspects also forced the victim’s girlfriend into their car and left the scene with her.  The victim sustained numerous cuts and bruises to his face and arms.

Upon further investigation, police were able to locate the suspect vehicle in the 1200 block of Bellevue Ave. They also located the female victim and the four suspects at this same location.  The suspects were identified as Robert Jones, 31, Matthew Straughter, 36, Andrew Sills, 29 and Delron Mitchell, 30, all of Syracuse. 

Jones, Straughter, Sills and Mitchell were arrested and charged with Robbery in the Second Degree and Unlawful Imprisonment in the Second Degree.  Jones was further charged with Obstructing Governmental Administration.  They were lodged at the Onondaga County Justice Center pending their arraignments.
