Utica Bank Robber Caught

Yesterday Utica Police Department arrested a man who robbed the GPO Federal Credit Union, Monday. 

Joshua M. Smith, 38 of Whitesboro is accused walking into the GPO Federal Credit Union on April 9, shortly before 5:00 pm, approaching a teller and handing her a note demanding money. The teller turned over an undisclosed amount of money and Smith fled.

It is also believed that Smith had entered the Adirondack Bank earlier where Smith spoke with employees but left the bank without incident.

He was charged with Robbery in the 3rd Degree.
