Second Man Arrested In Brazen Christmas Eve Murder

Deyontay Smith; 21, Rafael Jackson; 30

A second man has been arrested in a Christmas Eve murder in Syracuse. 

25-year-old Jay Ford was shot at a home on Temple Street in the middle of the afternoon on Christmas Eve. 

Police arrested 21-year-old Deyontay Smith on Monday. He is charged with second degree murder along with weapon possession charges.

Police arrested Rafael Jackson last week. Jackson is also suspected in having a hand in other shootings in Syracuse but has so far only been charged in one additional shooting.

Both Smith and Jackson are being held in the Justice Center.
