State Considers Spending Millions On Skaneateles Lake's Algae Issue

Albany, N.Y. - The State is considering spending $65 million on Skaneateles Lake and 11 others around the State affected by Algae Blooms.

The State dealt with numerous major outbreaks including some that affected municipal drinking water. An algae bloom in Skaneateles Lake affected the drinking water to Syracuse and other towns and villages in Onondaga County.

The particulars are expected to be outlined in Governor Cuomo’s State of the State next month.
