Arrests Made After Split Rock Quarry Assault

Onondaga, N.Y. - Sheriff Deputies have arrested two men after a violent assault at the Split Rock Quarry.

Dylan Fredette and Scott Sherwood are both facing felony assault charges. Deputies say Sherwood and Fredette attacked a man with a rock after he approached them about their unleashed dog in the quarry. The man’s injuries from the vicious attack were very serious and required surgery.

Deputies are also thanking the public for their help in the case. Deputies had released surveillance pictures of the men and the public provided tips about who the men were within hours.
