9 Y/O Dead After Southside Shooting

Update: 8:32 a.m. 8/21/2017 Syracuse, N.Y. - A 9-year-old is dead after he was shot on Syracuse's Southside. 

Syracuse Police say they were called to a home on Hartson Street at 2:37 a.m. Monday.  Police say they found the child shot and he was rushed to the Hospital where he passed away.

Detectives are still trying to figure out what led up to that shooting. They also say that they have the weapon used.


Update: 7:41 a.m. 8/21/2017 - Some Syracuse Police Officers say that the 9-year-old was shot.  There is still no official word from the Department other than they were called out to the shooting this morning.


Syracuse, N.Y. - Syracuse Police won't say how the child is involved only that they have been called out to a shooting this morning involving a 9-year-old.

Officers say they were called out about 2:45 a.m. Monday  to the City's Southside on Hartson Ave. That's just off South Geddes Street.

Crews remain on the scene.
