Cayuga County Residents Under a Boil Water Advisory

Aurora, N.Y. – Residents of the Cayuga County Village of Aurora are now being warned to boil their water before using it.

The head of Environmental Health for Cayuga County, Eileen O’Connor, says that a water main broke at Wells College forcing the college to bypass its water treatments facility to ensure the Villagers got their water.

O'Connor says that residents will need to bring all of their water to a rolling boil for at least a minute until the repair is made at Wells College and Health Department Officials can test the water to make sure it's safe to drink. She adds that may not be until Friday at the earliest.

Anyone with questions may call the Cayuga County Health Department at (315) 253-1560.
