Oswego County Killer Denied Parole Again

Alan Jones

An Oswego County man  who strangled his 11 year old stepsister to death has been denied parole again.

Alan Jones made his case to the parole board this week, but they've decided he'll remain in prison. Jones was convicted of manslaughter in 2009 in the death of Erin Maxwell. Prosecutors say Jones used a nylon rope to strangle Maxwell inside their Palermo home nine years ago.

Jones was found guilty of murder by a jury, but a state appeals court overturned his conviction and his conviction was reduced to manslaughter. Jones will be up for parole again in late 2018.
