Liverpool Field Trip Delayed Over Safety Concerns On Bus

Students and staff from the Liverpool School District feared for their safety over the weekend on a field trip because of a distracted bus driver.The Birnie Bus driver was taking the kids on a field trip the nations capitol. But as the trip progressed, teachers noticed the driver becoming increasingly distracted by his electronic devices while driving. 

He was constantly trying to get a DVD player to work and he was also seen using his smartphone. The staff was so concerned for their safety, they asked the driver to stop the bus. The students were dropped off at nearby restaurant and were forced to spend the night in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The district says the police were not contacted and the district did not notify parents until Monday morning.
