State Police say a father and son have died today after fire swept through their home in Herkimer County.
The fire erupted in a mobile home in the Town of Russia this morning and quickly engulfed the home. Firefighters at the scene couldn't get inside because of intense smoke and heat. 40 year old James Huckabone died in the fire and so did his 13 year old son Parker. Police say a neighbor called 911 when they spotted flames coming from the home.
Fire investigators are now going through the rubble of the home to try and determine a cause. Several fire departments had to be called to the scene.
