Syracuse To Tear Down Maria Regina Motherhouse After Fire Weakens Structure

Syracuse, N.Y. - Syracuse's Code Enforcement office has condemned the Motherhouse structure at the former Maria Regina campus, and issued an Order of Emergency Demolition for the four-story brick structure.

The building was severely damaged by a fire Friday, March 21st, that burned for nearly 24 hours.

Inspections and drone footage shows the building is a danger and a hazard to public as well as a threat to first responders in the event of another emergency there.

They hope to tear it down very soon.
