Volney, N.Y. - An Oswego County Sheriffs Deputy is dead after an early morning crash.
Sheriff Don Hilton says 33 Deputy Cailee Campbell was answering a call with lights and sirens on a little before 7 Wednesday morning.
As Deputy Campbell entered the intersection at County Route 176 and Rowlee Road in Volney, she was T-boned by another vehicle.
She was pronounced dead at the hospital. The driver in the other vehicle is expected to recover. Deputy Campbell had been a deputy in Oswego for 17 months. She previously worked in Corrections in Onondaga County.
