Syracuse Police Charge Man In Murder Of Woman Found In Lincoln Park

Syracuse, N.Y. - Syracuse Police have charged a 21 year old man with 2nd degree murder in the death of Joselyn Toaquiza

Police say Jhon Moises Chacaguasay-Ilbis turned himself in to the Spring Valley Police Department and on the morning of Wednesday, June 26th, members of the Syracuse Police Department Warrant Squad and Homicide Unit responded to the Spring Valley Police Department, took custody of Chacaguasay-Ilbis and brought him to Syracuse.

Toaquiza's body was found in a shallow grave in Lincoln Park last Saturday. Video surveillance shows a man carryng a woman's body out of an Air BNB across from the park.

Toaquiza arrived in the US from Ecuador last year. She and the man were in a relationship. She celebrated her 21st birthday on June 18th, the day its believed she was strangled to death.

There is a GO FUND ME set up to enable the family to send the woman back to her home in Ecuador.
