Brewerton., N.Y. - A day of fishing in Brewerton turned into tragedy Father's Day.
Police say two men, 42 year old Wattie Cappers of Syracuse and 44 year old Anthony Davis of Clay were fishing near the pier by the Waterfront Restaurant in Brewerton when Davis dropped his keys in the water.
He jumped in to get them but began to struggle in the water and Cappers dived in to help. Both were struggling when Sheriff’s Marine Patrol heard the cries fo help and arrived, rescuing Cappers.
Davis was found by divers and pronounced dead at the hospital.
