Syracuse Mayor Ben Walsh Signs New Tobacco And Vaping Law In The City

Syracuse, N.Y. - There's a new law in the city of Syracuse that bans how many stores can sell tobacco products and where they can sell them.

Mayor Ben Walsh signed the law Friday morning that takes effect October 1st.

The law forces stores to apply annually for a city license to sell tobacco and vaping products. The yearly fee will be $250.

Applications could be rejected for many reasons.

After the law’s first year, the city will then issue one new license for every two that are either revoked or expired.
