Syracuse, N.Y. - Bernie Mahoney, a former elected official and the father of Joannie Mahoney the former Onondaga County Executive, has died
Mahoney served on Syracuse Common Council for 10 years and four years in the state Assembly. He ran three time for Mayor of Syracuse but never won.
Mahoney was 87.
